- Historically significant shotgun, A 136 year old piece of South Africa historic beauty! Circa 1880 - 1890, this 12-gauge hammer action side-by-side Chas & Osborne, Birmingham, London, UK is still in perfect working condition. EXQUISITE engraving work done by hand. Taken off of a fallen high-ranking British soldier during the Anglo-Boer War (1899 - 1902) by my great grandfather, later a POW and taken to Ceylon, Sri Lanka, by the British. He was put on trial for murder after shooting the British officer who the shotgun originally belonged to, but was acquitted. Full history and proof thereof available upon request. Original leather carry pouch used in combat travel still intact. One of VERY few still in this excellent condition world-wide. Attached pictures of the shotgun.
